Dear Friends,
I am so blessed to be serving Christ with you all!!! Please accept my sincerest appreciation for your warm and welcoming reception of me and of my family during my candidate weekend. We were so happy to meet many of the wonderful members and guests of St. John’s, and I am so looking forward to meeting and getting to know all the members and friends of this welcoming community of believers.
I want to thank Pastor Todd, the Search Committee, and the Personal Committee for your engagement with me. Your gracious hospitality was so appreciated, and I will remember the entire process— from my first interview to my candidate sermon— with a heart full of gladness and gratitude. Thank you to the congregation at large for your welcome and for your obvious dedication to Christ’s mission through St John's.
I am delighted to be here among you and I want to thank you for your confidence in my skills and gifts that are now joined to yours. I am so looking forward to serving alongside you. Please know that I have an open door policy and am happy to meet with you whenever you have something specific on your mind, have questions of spiritual direction or would just like to become better acquainted.
Yours in Christ,
Pastor Christie

Lenten Bible Study
Please join Pastor Christie for a four-week Lenten study utilizing the Book of John to be offered from March 5-27. The majority of our time will be spent in Bible study with the remainder applying the scripture we have read to the ancient Christian prayer practice of Lectio Divina (divine reading). Lectio Divina is a deep and reverential manner of reading scripture leading us to a more loving and intimate relationship with God. Please feel free to attend either Thursday evenings from 5:30pm to 7:00pm or Friday mornings from 9:00am to 10:30am. Dates for Thursday evenings are March 5, 12, 19, and 26. Friday morning dates are March 6, 13, 20 and 27. We will meet in the Link Room. If you plan to attend, please call the church  office at 325-2165 and let Brandi know your name and phone number so that in the case of inclement weather, Pastor Christie is able to contact you.

A Mission Moment

This month we will be collecting a special offering called One Great Hour of Sharing or OGHS.  By giving to this offering, we are planting seeds of new life.  Together, we are investing in communities worldwide by providing education to girls and boys, empowering families with skills to support themselves and their neighbors, in addition to disaster relief and refugee initiatives. Through your generosity, the world is a better place.  We are asking for your support of this offering.  Envelopes may be found in the pew racks.

Help Wanted
The Faith Zone has several teaching opportunities available.  Our rotations are only two-week commitments.  If you have been looking for a way to contribute your time and talents, we could use your help.  For more information please contact Gary at garystjohns@tds.net or Val at valstjohns@tds.net.  You can also sign up online by going to our SignUpGenius page: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090C4BA5A72DA64-faith3  Thank you!

Church Camp

The calendar may say winter, but it's not too early to think about summer church camp.  Registration for all camp sessions at Moon Beach in St. Germain, Pilgrim Center in Ripon and a new site, Cedar Valley in West Bend, is now being accepted.  Registration information and a description of all camp opportunities can be found on the UCC outdoor ministry website at ucci.org. Many of the sessions fill up quickly so register soon. Printed information on camp offerings and registration is available in the library. To help defray the cost of each session, the Southwest Association automatically awards a scholarship to all campers and St. John's also offers scholarships with money raised from our annual pizza sale. Scholarship information is also available in the library..

Scrip report for 2019: It was a very good year!  We made $8,489 for our church this past year! Our only effort in accomplishing this was buying Scrip gift cards. The grand total you/we have earned for St. John’s in the last 15 years is $101,182!! THANK YOU for your support.  May it continue throughout 2020!

Youth Choir Notes for Spring
Believe it or not Spring is just around the corner and so is the Youth Choir singing in worship. It’s time to get everyone together and make a joyful noise to the Lord.
My plan is to sing in the months of March, April, and May. The tentative schedule is included in the article below. We welcome older children and youth who have sung in the choir before and those who would like to join the group. There is always
room for more singers. We will be practicing Wednesday afternoons from 5:00pm to 5:45pm in the Choir Room. We usually sing at the 9:00am Sunday service.
Our first March rehearsal will be on Wednesday, March 11. For more information contact Tiff Bates at 608-897-4728 or revtiffbates@gmail.com

Please join us for Fellowship hour after the 9:00am service
from September through May in Fellowship Hall.
Enjoy treats, coffee and a great time socializing with members and friends.
While you are there, pick up some Scrip cards and partake in other fun events
that may be happening that Sunday.
To help make fellowship time happen, men and women of St. John’s are assigned to a service group. When your name appears on that month’s calendar, a donation of treats (cookies, bars, brownies, muffins, donuts, crackers, cheese in bulk or cheese trays, fruit of any kind or any other baked goods) can be brought to the church any Sunday morning.
We also try to have gluten-free items available.
If time is short, picking up items at the grocery story is a great idea.
If baking isn’t your thing or you just don’t have time to bake, you can make a monetary donation for needed items such as coffee, lemonade or milk.
Donations may be mailed or dropped off at the church office.
You are welcome to email Laurie Boeck at Laurie.Boeck@colonybrands.com or call her at 325-5187
or Cathy Kehoe at kehoe4@tds.net or 328-1320 with your questions.
You may also call the church office at 325-2165.

Thank you for your support.
